March 12, 2009 - What I have been up to

These are the borders to my Star Student quilt which I started quite some time ago.

Here is the main part of the quilt top.

I started some flower seeds from my neighbor. They sprouted in 3 days. I have a feeling they are going to be quite large by the time I can plant them outside at the end of May!

This is Phoebe. We are having her for an extended visit until she is ready to be bred and have a litter of pups. After the puppies are gone to their new homes, Phoebe will come to stay with us forever. She is 4 years old and is not house trained. So today is potty training day. Every 30 minutes, out to the backyard we wander. You would think beef tenderloin would be some pretty good motivation to perform. She is not used to "going" while on a leash. Otherwise she is a very sweet dog and does not bark much at all, which gives her high marks as far as we are concerned!!

Your star quilt is looking good...I love the piao key type border when I am stumped for a border application!

Phoebe is a doll...golden?

I live in SE Wisconsin, too...small world. Found you thru Lori's Dakota City Quilter blog :)

Phoebe is beautiful. What a sweet face.

And look! You are a knitter and a quilter ... two of my favorite kind of people all rolled up into one!

Thanks for coming by today. I hope spring arrives for you soon. Those flowers will be lovely in your garden I'm sure. My morning glories just sprouted outside.

Yep, Phoebe is a cutie. I've potty trained 3 retrievers doing what you're doing. It's a pain but it works. Lots of praise and treats too, but I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. You're already taking pictures of her...consider yourself "wrapped" lol
