I am a fabric pre-washer, yes, I admit it. Big mistake when it comes to charm packs. The fabric does shrink. Not a good thing when you need 5" strips and the charm squares now measure 4-3/4 inches.
So I ordered a layer cake to be sure I had enough fabric. I got it all washed and ironed yesterday, and today I started cutting! I can't wait to get this quilt together. It will hang in the big empty space above my dresser in our bedroom.
Happy New Year to all of you.

I stumbled across your blog after reading you comment on Blogging, Near Philadelphia's blogspot. We Karen's (that's my name too) must think the same as I also get teary eyed when I see that youtube video of the lion greeting his old owners. Went back and read a bunch of your old blogs. The photos of your quilts were wonderful!!! You've done a nice job. I'll be checking back on you blog now and then to see what you are making. I also have that Very Hungry Caterpillar fabric and want to make a quilt for my grandsons. I like the way yours turned out.
